Bus Transportation Overview

i3 Academy provides bus service using central hubs located throughout Birmingham for pick-up and drop-off. Due to limited capacity, bus seats are offered on a first-come, first-served basis and require completing the i3 Academy Bus Service Request Form.

Safety and Privacy

To ensure the safety of our students, families, and bus personnel, bus routes will not be publicly posted. We ask all families to support our safety efforts by refraining from publishing any bus route information on public sites, including social media, websites, and neighborhood blogs.

FAQ

Q: How do I sign my child up for the bus?
A: Complete the Bus Transportation Request Form above. Seats are offered on a first-come, first-served basis, and some routes are currently full.

Q: How will I know if my child has a seat?
A: You will receive confirmation directly from the i3 Transportation Team once your child’s seat is approved. If the route is full, your child will be placed on a waitlist.

Q: Can my child ride the bus without applying?
A: No. All riders must have an approved application on file before they can ride.

Q: What if my child will not ride the bus for a day?
A: Please call your school’s front office as soon as possible so we can update our rosters.

Q: Where can I find my child’s pickup and drop-off times?
A: Your confirmation email from the i3 Transportation Team will include route details. During the first few weeks of school, times may be adjusted as our drivers settle into their routes.

Q: What should I do if the bus is late?
A: Please allow for extra time in the first few weeks. If a bus is running more than 10 minutes behind, the school will communicate updates when possible.

Q: Can siblings ride the same bus?
A: There is some overlap, but in most cases elementary students will not ride with middle or high school siblings due to separate routes and capacity limits.
